All thoughts of another uneventful match were wiped out after just 3 minutes. A bad touch from Cadiz defender Abraham Paz allowed Pinilla to steal the ball, race through on goal uncontested and finish cooly past Armando. The goal immediately settled Lisbon, who dominated possession for the first 10 minutes with some crisp precise passing.

If that goal just before half time deflated Cadiz , they certainly did not show it at the start of the second half, as they came out of the blocks firing. The constant pressure eventually told as Oli was tripped in the box for a penalty. The striker wiped himself down to take the kick himself but his effort was weak and easily saved by Ricardo.
The miss temporarily deflated Cadiz and Lisbon found some of their first half rhythm again. However they could not add to their lead. |
