Cadiz drew their third league game in a row while keeping a third clean sheet of the season. It was also the third time that the Spanish side had failed to find the net in 5 league games, a stat that must surely concern fans and management alike.
In what must surely rank as the worst first half of the season, both teams managed only one solitary off-target effort at goal each. Those fans who were still awake for the 2nd half at least saw an increase in goalmouth action.
Cadiz came closest to a goal with a free-kick from Sesma which struck the bar. Auxerre's best chance fell to top scorer Akale whose header was only just kept out by Armando. Cheyrou also had a great chance but found the netting on the wrong side of the post, while Cadiz could have won it late on when De Gomar was in on goal but shot badly wide on his weaker foot, and Fleurquin headed a last-minute corner just over.
